About
We are all on a journey with many paths to choose from. If we are open to God’s Spirit our journey leads to a deeper connection with him, and the life of freedom. If we are distracted or closed to his voice, we are at the mercy of our whims and impulses, defined by forces around us rather than the spirit of God within us. Where our journey takes us depends upon our ability or inability to hear God’s voice as He speaks into our heart. Which path will your journey take?
The Wellspring Story
Wellspring began through a series of conversations between Dave Gifford and Scott Toillion beginning in the Spring of 2006. Meeting weekly at Starbucks coffee house, God began impressing on Scott and Dave a vision for pursuing a life that truly reflects the freedom that God makes available to everyone through Jesus. Through personal trials and crises God crystallized the vision for Wellspring as Dave and Scott embarked on a shared journey toward freedom.
The Wellspring Mission: Freeing hearts for the journey
The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captive and release from darkness for the prisoners.—Isaiah 61:1-2
Jesus is the One who binds up the brokenhearted, proclaims freedom for the captives and release from the darkness. Jesus does not make himself hard to find but without taking the time to seek Him and wait upon Him, freedom in Him cannot be lived to its fullest. The key to life is the heart, for out of our heart flows the Wellspring of life. (Proverbs 4:23) Living out the freedom God makes available begins and ends with the heart. It is our hearts that God wants to change. It is to our hearts that God wants to free. All of life flows from there.
Wellspring Ministry invites you to participate in this shared pursuit. Join us as we live out the life of freedom through: Communion with God, Community with others and Commitment to the journey of faith
Wellspring practices
Communion with God
God is the source of all truth, grace, and power. Spending personal time with God through the disciplines of Silence, Solitude, and Prayer are essential to attaining the life of freedom.
Community with others
God designed us to grow and to reflect Him more fully in relationship with others. Living in authentic community spurs us on to greater freedom and a deeper connection with God.
Commitment to the journey of faith
Intimacy with God increases as we submit more of our heart to Him. Stepping out of our fears and anxieties where God must fill in the gaps is necessary for growing a more trusting relationship with Him.
